This renowned Montresor wine collection owes its name to a capital at the crossroads of a small village in Valpolicella: an incredibly old boulder with the figure of the Virgin Mary on it, which in the past was used by peasants as a volitional icon. The Montresor family from the 1950s established a deep collaboration with almost all the peasant families of the Borgo to purchase the grapes, becoming almost a monopoly. Thus, was born the Capitel della Crosara line which expresses all the best characteristics of Valpolicella.
